An excellent deconversion story from an extraordinary point of view.

This book should be on the book lists of all of those who seek a behind-the-scenes perspective on how some churches operate. The author was not only a member of the church, she was a personal assistant to a high profile pastor and wife and also became an ordained minister, which gave her direct access to the nuts and bolts of church operations.

This book is a page turner, and once I started reading it, I used every spare moment to complete it. Like most of those who were raised in the church, the author was led down the road of religious indoctrination before she even knew what religion was. Thankfully, she found her way out and lived to pen the story. Her story should give those seeking their way out of the religious matrix cause for pause and make them question those things that are so easy to justify or overlook when one is a paramazon ratingst of the flock.

I will be reading this story again, in order to have the knowledge gleaned from it fresh on my mental palate to share with those teetering on the edge of the religious cliff. I hope that one day I will have the opportunity to pass what I learned on to those who may be too afraid to read the book for themselves, for fear of “questioning their faith”.

Wonderful read!

This is an excellent book to help people relate to the effects of Christianity from both sides. The author paints a picture of her personal experience with the deep emotional feelings of love and devotion to Jesus and then she methodically entwines the red flags that occur during her infatuation before she comes forward with her realization of the truth. As a male, I never could understand what the issue was with me and women because of the very thing the author talks about. And I could see the benefit of the way she wrote the book to help a female reader identify what she may be going through. This was definitely a wonderful read. I felt her ups and downs from the start to the finish. To the author, I sincerely thank you for writing this as it has helped me answer questions that I have had for the past few years concerning relationships as well as the primary purpose to let the reader know of the trap of Jesus Christ. I feel closers to you as well as more understanding of my sisters. Peace and love to you!!!

This is a MUST READ for anyone on a journey of truth!!!!!, October 24, 2015

This book was one of the hardest reads for me to put down! It captivated me from the beginning, as it resonated with my own journey to find the truth I have been yearning for. As I read the Author’s story, I found myself consistently recalling thoughts, ideas and events that I had questioned, but conveniently tucked away so as not to be deemed one who is “stirring up the flock” and could continue to be seen as a “good sheep”. As one who has walked in the Office of a Prophetess in the church, I found the book and the Author to be a peaceful haven for me to grow and dwell as I journey to find out the truth for myself. I love her for her strength and willingness to write a book that contains such thought provoking information that so many are searching for! May all that are seeking answers in the journey of truth find their way to this book!!!!!!

I enjoyed this book so much. It was well written. The author’s story will be a great help to those who may be struggling with smashwordsleaving Christianity and inspiring to others, like myself, who have already awakened.

WOW!!!!!! Is all “Eye” can say Ms. Zuri. Your book was an AWESOME read! I had to get use to reading with the “Eye” instead of “I,” but I totally understand why you wrote it that way. I felt as if I was reading my own story. I left Christianity a little over a year ago after 14 years and it has not been easy. Your book left no stones unturned. Let’s see what I can say about your book. Easy reading, (It took me approx. 2 hours to finish it). Heavy content: not only did you tell your story (transparently I might add) but you took the time to explain in depth the areas that needed explaining. And the links…I love the links because I could research the information for myself. I have more to say but I think that this is long enough. I just want to say THANK YOU for being so transparent and forthcoming about what really goes on behind the pulpit. “Eye” can’t wait until your next book. J.R
